About John Walker
I have called Modesto my home for 17 years. Prior to deciding that this was where we wanted to raise our family I lived in San Jose, Darmstadt and Frankfurt West Germany, Fort Campbell KY, Fort Gordon GA, Fort Jackson SC, Ocala FL, and I was born in Atlanta GA.
I have been married to my wife Jessica for 19 years and have 2 daughters. One is in 10th grade and the other is in 8th grade.
My passion for education comes from the fact that if it were not for having a decent paying job at Safeway that allowed me to finish college I would not be where I am at today. Education changed not just my life but the life of my wife and daughters as well.
Professionally I am a software engineer doing research and development on air traffic management tools that provide safer and more efficient solutions for NASA under various contractors. My current employer is Universities Space Research Association (USRA). The current project is called ATD-2.
